5 ITEMs You Must Wear to Work This Fall

The fall weather is finally starting and it's so great to wear coats and boots again. I love all the colors for Fall 2015, but what I don't love is having to buy whole new outfits for each color coordination, so my palette for Fall 2015 is still the standard black, gray, and burgundy. Here are the five items I think are great work wardrobe investments for Fall and how to easily style each item four different ways.

Black Culottes

They are the new IT pant and are super easy to style. I love the looks with the ankle boots above. To make your legs look longer tuck in your shirt as in look #2 above. If you are petite, it's best to wear a dark top with black culottes and heels (see look #3). Shop the highest quality culottes at great prices below:

Leather Skirt

If you have been following my blog for a while, you'll know that I love wearing leather skirts and they always elevate my look. Here are the looks I've worn: Look 1 and Look 2. My preference is to tuck in a blouse or tee inside the skirt, but if you have a sweater that comes just down to the waist, then keep it untucked. Leather skirts look the most professional when paired with a blazer as in Look #4 above. Here are some great options of leather skirts you can wear to work at affordable prices:

Black Flared Pants

If you want to make your legs look really long wear flared pants that are long with high heels. Flared pants are easy to style with sweaters, tees, or blouses. One new style I love is the look #3 above with the belted cardigan or cape. Any oversized cardigan would work for recreating this look. I like flared work pants so much that I have them in black and gray and have worn both to many work meetings. My favorite place to buy them is Club Monaco, but Express and The Limited both have some great styles and cuts. Here are some great options:

Shiny Pleated Skirt

Pleated skirts have been on my must have list for Fall for a while now, but I really have grown to love the look of these skirts that are shiny. The shine gives them more body and volume and makes them look much more expensive. As the four examples above show, this skirt can be paired with any top, tucked in or not, but again, the tops that look best not tucked in would be shorter, to the waist. The ankle strap pumps with a thicker heel is super comfortable and looks great with skirts. If you are looking for a versatile work shoe that looks and feels good, look for an ankle strap pump with a chunky heel like these from DVF. Here are some pleated skirts with shine:

Boyfriend Jeans

The most comfortable jeans are still very much in fashion. It's very easy to style them for casual occasions, however depending how conservative your work environment is, these might not be a good work option for you. To make them more appropriate for work, wear them with a blazer as shown in Look #4 and pumps. Get a darker wash with no holes for a more professional look. Here are some good work options:
